Chapter III. Not Sold by the Day

A day rate is not a price.
A day rate prices the camera and the hours around it.It says nothing about where the work plays, or how long it has to keep working. We scope against the outcome instead: the placements it has to fill, the run it has to survive, and the number it is answerable to at the end of it.The shoot days fall out of that answer rather than setting it.
We sell the outcome.

III.a

Priced on Outcome

Scope starts from where the work has to play, how long it has to keep working and what it is measured against. The days, the crew and the kit are what that answer costs, not the other way round.

III.b

One Line, Not Four

The same team scopes it, shoots it and cuts it, so there is one price for the whole of it rather than four quotes stacked on top of each other with a margin on each join.

III.c

Built to Keep Working

One shoot is cut for every place it has to run. The film, the cutdowns, the verticals, the stills. What is paid for once is still working months later, in formats nobody had to go back and reshoot.
