A shoot produces material. The edit is where it becomes work.One film for the screen at the event, one for a feed that plays it muted,one square, one vertical, and the stills nobody remembers to ask for.None of them is a trim of the others.Each is cut for the place it has to survive,from the same day and by the same people who shot it.Colour, sound and titles are part of the cut, not a service bought afterwards.What leaves the building is finished, in the format it is going to run in.
